AIS intros line of multitouch screen monitors

September 3, 2013

American Industrial Systems has introduced a new line of multitouch displays equipped with projected capacitive touch technology for simultaneous touches across the entire screen.

The displays are targeted for use in kiosks, point-of-purchase displays, photo kiosks, bill-payment kiosks, wayfinding kiosks and more, according to the news release. The industrial multitouch chassis monitors are commercially off-the-shelf units and come standard in a selection of sizes including 15.6, 18.5 and 21.5 inches.

"By integrating the experience of smartphones with the interface of our multitouch screens displays, self-service kiosks become an extension of what people have with them and use every day," Nelson Tsay, president of AIS, said in the release. "The improved user experience from deploying our multitouch screens will deliver a more efficient, engaging interaction at self-service kiosks, leading to higher sales revenues for retailers."
