NCR demos self-service throughout travel process (video)

NCR uses Denmark tradeshow to showcase combined solutions for the retail, food and travel industries.

NCR Corp. demonstrated at the Passenger Terminal Expo 2011 in Copenhagen how passengers could utilize self-service solutions throughout the different stages of travel.

The company showcased its wayfinding solutions, mobile check-in applications and self-ordering kiosks used in airport restaurants.

"Because of the increasing cost base, airlines are looking to increase self-service and lower the transaction process and cost whenever possible, so it lends itself to kiosk transaction, to Web check-in and, of course, mobile check-in," Nick Rankin, managing director of NCR Travel, said in the video. "Also, because of the pressures on their time, passengers are looking for more convenient ways to process their journey. Mobile boarding pass, of course, continues to grow, we're the world-leader in that technology, and we see huge growth month-to-month."
