Movie-rental kiosk pioneer redbox announced yesterday that it had recently reached several milestones: 1.5 billion movie rentals, 4 million video game rentals, more than 27,800 kiosk locations and massive consumer touch points across email, SMS, Facebook and mobile apps.
And it put out a zippy infographic to crow about its big red achievements.
According to the company, 68 percent of the U.S. population lives within a five-minute drive of a redbox kiosk, and the kiosks averaged 55 million monthly rentals in Q2 2011, or up to 40 rentals a second, according to the redbox infographic, below:
