ZoomSystems seeks global expansion with Vigix acquisition

August 9, 2013

Automated retail company ZoomSystems recently announced the acquisition of Vigix Inc. and its patented no-moving-parts technology, which ZoomSystems said will allow it to expand its global infrastructure and its on-shelf availability for in-demand products.

The Vigix no-moving-parts dispensing system is designed to optimize retail space for in-store unattended sales by offering a secure way to sell products on the store's shelf — and without placing them behind the cash register, according to the announcement. The Vigix system will be integrated into the existing ZoomSystems end-to-end automated retail network throughout North America, Europe and Japan.

"ZoomSystems is focused on investing in the growing automated retail industry, and this new technology will allow us to operate in thousands of major retail stores on a global basis," said Jack Lawrence, ZoomSystems CEO. "We're excited to enter new markets and new channels, ultimately helping our current and new brand partners sell more products and improve the consumer experience."
