MANCHESTER, U.K. - Fulfillment firm Zendor announced in a news release that it is providing support for Woolworths' newly expanded in-store Internet ordering program. The pilot for the program began in October 2004, with a rollout to 824 retail locations in May 2005, and gives customers access to 650,000 products not normally available in Woolworths stores.
Gerry Callanan, head of supply chain development for Woolworths, said, "We are expecting that the introduction of the in-store Internet order facility will offer a point of difference that will reflect positively on the Woolworths brand. It is our belief that in the long term, serving customers through the integration of our online offer with our extensive store network offers a good growth opportunity, in particular in our smaller stores who will benefit from a much broader product offering."
