West Virginia installs vehicle registration kiosk at convenience store

June 14, 2017

Government officials introduced a self-service vehicle registration and license renewal kiosk at a convenience store in Barboursville, West Virginia, according to The Herald-Dispatch.

Division of Motor Vehicles customers can use the kiosk to renew their West Virginia driver's license and vehicle registration, and get a printout of their driving record.

"This Huntington regional DMV office is very busy, so this was one of the locations we wanted to have a new kiosk to help alleviate wait times at the regional office," said DVM Commissioner Pat Reed during a ribbon cutting ceremony at the convenience store.

The kiosk uses scanning and a touchscreen to securely update vehicle information through step-by-step instructions and optional voice assistance.
