The City of West Palm Beach, in partnership with IKE Smart City, has launched a network of interactive digital kiosks throughout the city.

The IKE (Interactive Kiosk Experience) kiosks are designed to provide residents and visitors with real-time, location-based information, including wayfinding, local business directories and public transit details, according to a press release. The launch was officially announced at a ribbon-cutting ceremony on August 8.

The kiosks, which are ADA-accessible and located in high-traffic pedestrian areas, offer a suite of features including dual-sided touchscreens, free public Wi-Fi and multilingual apps. Users can find nearby dining options, access community messages and events and receive critical public safety alerts. The IKE network is deployed at no cost to the city or its taxpayers, with a business model that supports local small businesses through free directory listings.

"As our downtown continues to thrive as a hub for residents, businesses and visitors alike, we are excited to introduce smart city technology that connects people in meaningful ways," Keith A. James, West Palm Beach mayor, said in the release. The launch positions West Palm Beach among more than 20 cities nationwide that have adopted the IKE Smart City technology.
