Walmart has closed self-checkout lanes at a store in West Hills, Los Angeles amid wider concerns about retail theft in self-checkout lanes, according to a report from the Irish Star.
Walmart declined to comment on the self-checkout closure or potential causes, however.
"We're always looking at ways to innovate and improve our stores," said a Walmart employee quoted by the report. "We have nothing to announce related to self-checkout removals at this time."
Similar developments in recent days include Walmart removing self-checkout from two New Mexico locations last Fall, according to the report.
