Virginia county installs kiosk for making tax payments

June 7, 2017

Albermale County, Virginia has installed an automated tax payment kiosk that replaces a drive-thru window, according to The Daily Progress. The kiosk operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Customers can pay taxes for real estate and personal property. In January, they will be able to pay monthly food and beverage taxes and fees for business licenses.

The kiosk accepts credit and debit cards in addition to cash. Credit cards incur a 2.25 percent fee. The kiosk does not offer change.

Customers can scan their bill at the kiosk or enter their account number and part of their Social Security number to make a payment.
