Veridocs Inc. uses live video facial recognition for identity verification

October 4, 2017

Veridocs Inc., the developer of an identity management system, has bolstered its ID Authentication system in partnership with Gemalto and its Live Face Identification System for a more proactive security system along with a more accurate authentication and verification process, according to a press release.

With LFIS, Veridocs adds a live video-based facial recognition system that automatically recognizes multiple faces simultaneously from live footage or imported footage, and allows for identification of individuals from faces in a crowd, even in dynamic, uncontrolled environments.

When combined with any of Veridocs' solutions, IDs are checked for persons under age, patrons are cross checked against various watch lists, live faces are matched with faces from scanned documents, and real-time alerts are sent so appropriate action can be taken. Moreover, LFIS captures several images of each person and compares them to many reference images.

"With Gemalto's LFIS, we bring proactive security while maintaining an easy integration with a flexible software that ultimately adds another layer to the accuracy and the reliability of the authentication and verification system at a hotel or a casino," Eric Walla, vice president of business development at Veridocs, said in the press release.
