Vending machines get cashless tech makeover

August 24, 2016

USA Technologies Inc. has partnered with A&A Vending Services to upgrade A&A's vending machines with a cashless platform and telemetry service. This service, known as ePort Connect, is designed to enable and track cashless and mobile payments, according to a press release.

USA Technologies is integrating its platforms with 1,200 vending machines with its system and will have 520 machines finished in four months, according to the release. With the system, A&A will be able to track the use of cash, cards and mobile payments.

"More and more of our customers are looking to make contactless purchases from our machines, so we realized that transitioning to cashless wasn't something we could put off any longer," Les Perry, owner of A&A Vending Services, said in the release. "USA Technologies has been guiding us through the process, offering insight and support to ensure our financial commitment pays off as quickly as possible. We are excited by the early traction and look forward to continued results like these as we move to 100 percent cashless on every machine."

"A&A is a perfect example of the positive benefits retailers can realize as they move from a primarily cash-based business to cashless," Jim Turner, vice president of deployment services, USA Technologies said in the release. "Our approach insures that deployment is done in a way that makes sense based on the specific needs of the business. By implementing smart, strategic deployment programs through Premium Support Services, companies like A&A not only capture more purchases by consumers, but are running their business in a more efficient way."
