San Jose (California) International Airport unveiled two new "global entry kiosks," as part of U.S. Customs and Borders expedited clearance program for pre-approved passengers,NBC said.
The kiosks join some 50 airports nationwide that installed the stations for international travelers who pass Customs and Borders background checks. Travelers who pass the checks are admitted into the global entry program as "low risk" passengers. They can access the kiosks for expedited clearance upon arrival.
Here are the steps to follow once at the airport (according to NBC):
1) Present a machine-readable passport or U.S. permanent resident card;
2) Place fingertips on the scanner for fingerprint verification, and make a customs declaration; and
3) Wait for the kiosk to issue a transaction receipt and then direct the traveler to baggage claim and the exit.
