CUMBERLAND, Canada -- U.S. Cellular has opened a new "high-tech, high-touch" retail store at Braddock Square.
The store features five consulting stations, as well as product information displays, an interactive kiosk and live wireless phone demonstration stations. There are also customer-service and billing terminals.
According to a story in the Cumberland Times-News, the 2,600 square-foot store was designed to guide customers through each step of the cellular buying process, from selecting the right rate plan to choosing the best phone and wireless accessories.
"U.S. Cellular strives to provide its customers with superior wireless technology and unsurpassed customer care," said Gerry Wilson, director of sales for U.S. Cellular.
This year, U.S. Cellular will open about 10 new store locations and remodel more than 22 existing retail locations according to the new "customer-focused" model, according to the article.
By the end of 2002, about 300 U.S. Cellular retail stores nationwide will have incorporated elements of the new design concept, the article said.
