Two Malaysia-based tourist locations, Langkawi Island and Cameron Highlands, are installing self-service kiosks for tourists to find information on events and international expos, attractions, accommodations and places of interest.

According to Langkawi.com, provider of the Langkawi kiosks and tourist portal for the island, the kiosks are designed to be user friendly and easy to navigate. The company will station the kiosks in high-traffic areas such as airports and other top attractions, and offer exclusive benefits and privileges to engage customers. For example, the kiosks will provide special discounts on Langkawi travel packages, such as day trips and island tours.

Featuring comprehensive car-rental information and guides, the kiosks will enable tourists to view rates and pricing and vendor contact information. Information on Langkawi transportation services will allow visitors to pre-plan long distance travel, the company said in a press release.

In a separate announcement, Cameron.com.my reported the company will also expand services through electronic kiosks that highlight information on Cameron Islands and offer similar benefits and privileges on travel packages. Customers can browse travel packages on the kiosks and discover information on day trips and trekking into the island's waterfalls. The kiosks will offer vouchers and coupons for island eateries that can be downloaded at the station.

For transportation, tourists can arrange airport pickups from the kiosks as well as intercity travel.
