SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Integrated Software Solutions Inc. will demonstrate its TouchPointKiosk, a Web-based retail kiosk that is easy for customers to use, June 26- 28 at Chicago's Retail Systems 2001 Conference and Exposition, booth 1341. The retail software is based on Extensible Markup Language (XML). XML is a vendor-independent system for letting Web page designers customize how information is displayed on Web pages.
The kiosk uses a standard Web browser to display self-service options. TouchPointKiosk software provides self-checkout using a credit or debit card, gift receipts, and the ability to check prices. Shoppers can read the application in English or Spanish, set right-hand or left-hand preferences, and turn on audible prompts.
The application can be customized for different retailers. The software works on any browser-based kiosk, full-service point of sale terminal, and wireless handheld device.
Barry Henderson, vice-president of application development for ISS, said that using TouchPointKiosks reduces check-out lines and frees sales associates to help other customers.
Visitors at the trade show demonstration will be able to look at the company's other multi-channel, Web-enabled applications including TouchPointMobile, TouchPointPOS, RJDOS and InterPOS.
ISS, a privately held company with offices in Raleigh, N.C. and San Diego, Calif., supplies retail information software systems and Web-enhanced applications.
