Austin (Texas) American Statesman: Touch International Inc., an Austin-based manufacturer of touchscreens, says it expects to expand its Texas headquarters in coming months as it introduces new technology. That technology is used mostly in military, medical and aerospace applications, including in-flight television and Internet access touchscreens. The firm operates eight manufacturing facilities worldwide with 1,200 employees, including about 150 in engineering, sales, administration and manufacturing jobs at its Austin headquarters. It is about to introduce iPhone-type technology made popular in cell phones and expand it to public-access kiosk applications.
