Time magazine has named the Amazon Pharmacy Kiosk one of its Best Inventions of 2026, recognizing a system that lets patients collect prescriptions before leaving their doctor's office. The magazine's Oct. 15 entry highlights the kiosks' potential to reduce transportation barriers and eliminate a separate pharmacy visit.
Introduced in 2025, the kiosks carry commonly prescribed medications, including antibiotics and blood pressure treatments, and offer audio and video access to licensed pharmacists. They are available at select One Medical offices in Los Angeles and San Francisco, with expansion planned, according to Time.
Patients order through Amazon Pharmacy, select kiosk pickup and scan a QR code to retrieve their medication. Amazon said a licensed pharmacist verifies every order, and customers pay no additional kiosk fee. Time disclosed that it has a content and technology partnership with Amazon.
