Ticket vending machine outage on NJ Transit

June 17, 2014

A Verizon cellular network outage led to the failure of 200 out of 700 ticket machines belonging to NJ Transit, reports North Jersey.com.

The intermittent cellular outage meant that the machines could not accept credit or debit card payments between Saturday 14 and Monday 16 June, a NJ Transit spokesperson told North Jersey.com. However, passengers were able to buy tickets for cash on board trains without being surcharged.
