Williamson County, Tennessee has installed a vehicle tag renewal kiosk at the Fairview Recreation Center to allow for license plate renewals for cars, trucks, motorcycles and trailers, according to The Tennessean.
Jeff Whidby, chief deputy county clerk, said the kiosk, combined with mobile emissions testing, will save residents time and gas.
The kiosk is available to be used anytime the facility is open, including early morning, late evenings and weekends. Users scan the barcode on their registration or renewal notice they receive in the mail.
Instantly receiving the new registration and sticker for the license plate will be especially helpful to residents who wait until the last day of the month to renew.
Each kiosk costs approximately $12,000, according to the report.
