TE Connectivity names Indian president

TE Connectivity Ltd. has appointed V Raja president of TE Connectivity, India. In his new role, effective Oct. 7, Raja will continue to build the company's team and operations in India, and serve as TE's executive leader with government officials and customers in India.

With about $200 million in annual sales, more than 10 locations, and close to 5,000 employees, TE's business in India is a key contributor to the company's overall growth in emerging markets, according to a company press release. Emerging markets account for nearly a quarter of TE's revenues. Raja will report to Joe Donahue, TE's Executive Vice President and COO.

Prior to joining TE, Raja was president and CEO of GE Healthcare, India. Raja joined GE in 1997 and held a number of positions across GE India. He became president and CEO of GE Healthcare, India in 2004. He has more than 31years of work experience in multinational organizations. Raja was born in the city of Kolkata, formerly known as Calcutta, is an alumnus of St. Xavier's College in Kolkata, and is a qualified Chartered Accountant and Company Secretary.
