Chelsea Now:The Metropolitan Transportation Authority in New York unveiled a new "talking kiosk" to help visually impaired customers navigate Penn Station's concourses, passageways and platforms. The kiosk features a touch-activated map of the station, visual displays for the partially sighted and a voice designed for phonetic clarity. Customers touch different parts of the map, the kiosk describes the corresponding location and gives directions of how to get there. The kiosk cost $23,000, or less than half the cost of a previous model, which was removed earlier this year.
