Göteborg Landvetter Airport, western Sweden's international airport with 90 direct flights around the world, has ordered 12 self-service bag-drop kiosks to be delivered in the first quarter of 2015, according to an announcement from DSG Systems, which will install the units at the airport.
The company, a global provider of self-service bag drop solutions, said it will customize the devices according to the client's needs.
"This gives our passengers a greater opportunity to manage their own time, when they are out travelling. Our hope is that this will reduce queues and provide a smoother flow at the check-in," said Charlotte Ljunggren, airport director at Göteborg Landvetter Airport, in the announcement. "This is a natural step forward, when the ability to self-check in and receive their boarding card by various mobile solutions is common among airlines. Now it is possible to control your baggage handling yourself, if you want to."
