Dutch startup Caenator has developed a french fry vending kiosk. The machine was developed through a partnership with StartLife and Wageningen University & Research Centre in the Netherlands, according to a report by Potato Pro.
The kiosk is designed with a 32-inch touchscreen and can deep fry frozen fries within 110 seconds, according to the report. Mayonnaise, curry, ketchup, a fork and salt are given to the user separately in a box. The freezer compartment of the kiosk is designed to hold 25 kg of frozen fries.
"Caterers and bar and restaurant owners see the machine as a way to retain or increase their turnover," Bastiaan Roest, business development executive of Caenator, said in the report. "Public transport companies see the machine as a way to make waiting less annoying. For various budget hotels, it is a way to offer a service to their guests 24/7."
Currently, the prototype of the kiosk is installed at the Restaurant of the Future at Wageningen University.
