Star Micronics has upgraded its mPOP Bluetooth printer and cash drawer solution with new options that can turn it into a full point-of-sale kiosk. The POPPack option includes a tablet stand or PIN entry device stand, according to a press release.
The tablet frame comes in black and white and accommodates a 10-inch tablet. It can be rotated up to 180 degrees and comes with a metal plate with alternative colors, according to the release.
The mPOP Bluetooth printer itself is 10 centimeters high and 30 centimeters wide. The thermal printer is designed to automatically cut a 58 millimeter-wide receipt.
The solution provides retailers and restaurants a flexible tablet POS system with a small footprint and simple setup, according to the release.
"Given the popularity of mPOP, Star has launched POPPack to provide retailers with a low-cost option that transforms Star's combined Bluetooth printer and cash drawer solution into a secure mobile mPOS station that will complement any countertop," Star Micronics Marketing Director Annette Tarlton said in the release.
