Stamford Downtown has partnered with Soofa, a Cambridge, Massachusetts-based technology company, to introduce solar-powered information kiosks to the city center, according to a Stamford Advocate report.

Four of the 8-foot-tall electronic devices have been installed, with a fifth planned, signaling a potential expansion. The initiative aims to improve navigation for visitors within the rapidly growing city. "We've been looking to build a more robust wayfinding system in downtown," Michael Moore, president of Stamford Downtown, told the news outlet, emphasizing the kiosks as a "first step" in enhancing navigational tools.

Soofa, founded in 2014 by women from the MIT Media Lab, is providing the kiosks at no cost to Stamford, with the company recouping revenue through the sale of advertising space on the devices. This partnership represents an effort to integrate modern technology into public spaces to enhance visitor experience.
