Spectre focusing on German photo kiosks

VANCOUVER, British Columbia - Saying public access kiosks are always a solid business opportunities, Vancouver-based Spectre Industries Inc. (OTCBB:STND) announced on Jan. 30 that it has acquired a 54 percent holding of German digital photo kiosk company AutoPhotoKiosk GmbH (APK). The deal was for an undisclosed amount of cash plus loan pledges for future kiosk production.

APK operates ten digital photo processing kiosks in Germany with plans to add several hundred more over the next two to three years. Spectre officials said the company would evaluate expanding APK into other European markets.

"I have always believed that public access kiosks are an excellent business venture," Ian Grant, Spectre chief executive officer, said in a news release.

Spectre's primary focus is in the automotive aftermarket, including such Internet applications as on-line parts procurement. For a nine-month period ending Sept. 30, 2001, the company reported a loss for the fiscal year of $258,115, as compared to a net loss of $511,298 for the same period in fiscal year 2000.
