Speakers announced for Self-Service & Kiosk Show

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Leading experts in self-service technology, including representatives from Cisco, Dell, Forrester Research and NCR, will speak at the upcoming Self-Service & Kiosk Show.

The show, which will be held Oct. 17-18 at the South San Francisco Conference Center, educates businesses in a wide variety of industries about implementing self-service programs to increase customer satisfaction and sales, and decrease wait times.

NetWorld senior vice president Greg Swistak said, "Our longtime leadership in self-service-related publishing enables us to bring together some of the most knowledgeable experts in the self-service and kiosk industry. Their presentations will include the latest research and strategies in self-service, targeted specifically to the needs and interests of businesses that are implementing self-service programs."

The show offers workshops, seminars and panel discussions, together with vendor exhibits, to further attendees' education about the self-service way of doing business.

The keynote address will be presented by Cisco Systems vice president Mohsen Moazami who will discuss how connected commerce is redefining the shopping experience and challenging traditional retailing models. His address is "Connected Commerce Drives Customer Satisfaction to a New All-Time High."

The show's program includes a total of 14 seminars focused on self-service in the retail, grocery, financial, travel and hospitality industries. Scheduled presentations include:

  • Brian Slaughter, retail brand manager of Dell Inc., will present "Digital Signage - The Next Big Wave." Retailers will learn why 2005 is the year for digital signage, how they can fund this initiative and what to look for in solutions for their stores.
  • Kerry Bodine, a senior analyst in Forrester Research's customer experience group, will speak on "The Kiosk Environment: Strategies to Increase Kiosk Visibility, Foot Traffic and User Comfort." This session will summarize the latest research findings on the factors that help users find kiosks, get easy access to the machines and work comfortably once there.
  • Peter C. Honebein, Ph.D. and Roy F. Cammarano, Ph.D., authors of "Creating Do-It-Yourself Customers" will present "Four Pillars for Satisfaction When Customers Do the Work," focusing on how leading companies create coproduction experiences that increase customer satisfaction, trust and loyalty.
  • Paul Barron, chief operating officer and co-publisher of QSRweb.com and FastCasual.com, will present "Self-Service Applications in QSR and Fast Casual Restaurants." The presentation focuses on how cashless self-service, gift cards, e-mail, guest relations marketing and kiosks improve operations and create more customer retail appeal for the fast services industry.
