SoloHealth partners with Dell for upcoming deployment

August 27, 2012

SoloHealth Inc. announced its new partnership with Dell Inc. for the nationwide rollout of its health assessment kiosks.

The SoloHealth Station provides health screenings for vision, blood  pressure, weight and body mass index; a symptom checker; and an overall health assessment free of charge.

The Georgia-based healthcare technology start-up has already seen success with investors. Walter Huff, Coinstar Inc. and WellPoint Inc., one of the nation's largest health benefits companies, have all backed SoloHealth's efforts. The Dell partnership furthers the company’s plans to have its kiosks in more than 8,000 locations across the country.

Dell's OEM Solutions unit will manufacture and deliver the SoloHealth kiosks to retailers this fall, as part of the partnership.

"By providing SoloHealth with a single source for the financing, hardware and deployment of its kiosk," said Dell vice president Joyce Mullen in the Atlanta Business Chronicle, "we give them the reliability and flexibility to expand into new opportunities."

Dell’s decision to back the health assessment kiosks marks the computer manufacturer's new direction toward becoming a technology services company, after reporting an 18 percent decrease in profit and an 8 percent decline in revenue earlier this month.
