Hello Hub, a solar-powered kiosk with two touchscreen computers containing educational software and an internet connection, has deployed to connect children and adults to the Internet and other resources, according to a GizMag article.

Much like SOLARKIOSK and the Digital Drum, the Hello Hub is providing access to online services in Nigeria via a touchscreen computer housed in rugged, waterproof enclosures, according to the article. Designed by Projects for All, the Hello Hub includes bench seating for up to eight people and remote access to software for troubleshooting.

User can interact with the kiosks via touchscreen, webcam, keyboard and microphone, and each member has individual login and password information to personalize the desktop.

Hello Hub runs on a custom version of educational-themed Edubuntu, a Linux platform that provides an office suite, media editing tools and web browser. Five more Hello Hubs are scheduled for launch throughout Eastern Nigeria by March 2015.
