Signage, map kiosks enhance Mountwood Park experience

Mountwood Park in West Virginia has unveiled a trail signage system designed to improve the visitor experience for hikers and bikers, according to a report by The Parkersburg News and Sentinel.
The project, a collaboration between the Mountaineer Trail Network and local partners, included the installation of trail markers, kiosks and maps throughout the park.
"We wanted to create a standardized system that would make it easier for people to navigate the trails and find the ones that are appropriate for their skill level," Andrew Walker, executive director of MTN, told the news outlet. "The new signage includes trail descriptions, difficulty ratings, and maps to help visitors plan their adventures."
The project has received praise from local officials and tourism leaders. Mark Lewis, CEO and president of the Greater Parkersburg CVB, believes the updates will not only attract more visitors to the area but also boost the local economy.
