Thailand’s Digital Government Development Agency has teamed with the Student Loans Fund office to allow students to check the status of their education loans using kiosks, according to The Nation. The kiosks allow students to print a QR code to use to make loan payments via a KTB mobile banking application or on a KTB digital platform.
The DGA has installed 56 of the kiosks in Bangkok and the provinces of Khon Kaen, Chiang Mai and Phuket, and will install another 120 next year.
The kiosks also provide social security and health care information, and will eventually offer utility payments and other government services.
SLF Manager Chainarong Katchapanan said that 5.4 million students in Thailand have loans.
