Scannx LLC today announced that it has signed a trademark licensing agreement with Xerox Corporation to develop, market and support a new line of Xerox-branded, book-scanning kiosks for library patrons and staff.
As part of the four-year licensing agreement, Scannx will provide a range of book-scanning systems under the Xerox brand that will be powered by Scannx Cloud Services, a cloud-based document capture and delivery software technology, according to a company press release.
"Xerox's long tradition of providing document technology to libraries and education institutions is strengthened by our partnership with Scannx." Duane Schulz, Xerox vice president of brand and marketing operations, said in the release. "These systems will let you scan a library book, document or photo and then easily store it to a USB flash drive, email it as an attachment, send it to Google Docs, fax it or print it."
The kiosks will be distributed through Scannx sales channels in North America, Latin America and Europe during the first quarter of 2012.
