Sagem Denmark receives final Visa PED approval

September 27, 2005

GLOSTRUP, Denmark - Visa Corp. has granted Sagem Denmark the final Visa PED approval for the PIN Pad and card reader modules used in Sagem Denmark's Unattended Payment Solution, according to a news release.

The two modules in the Unattended Payment Solution from Sagem Denmark are designed for easy and flexible integration into any unattended environment requiring reliable and PIN secure card payment transactions. The flexibility of the solution makes it ideal for EMV upgrades of existing equipment. On trial now in several countries in Europe (e.g. Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Germany and Poland), the equipment offering unattended services is often deployed in rough environments, such as cold climates or places subject to acts of vandalism.

In addition to the prestigious Visa PED approval for its Unattended Payment Solution, Sagem Denmark has already received the Visa PED approval for its other electronic payment products, from the POS Payment Terminal "Flexi" and Encrypting PIN-Pads (EPP's) to self-service banking terminals.

Kaj Christiansen, director of Sagem Denmark, said "The Visa PED approvals that Sagem Denmark has received for our OEM products are all generic, so that the equipment of our EPP and POS customers can be accepted by acquirers as long as they use the hardware and software as prescribed."
