San Francisco-based residential solar company Sunrun introduced an interactive multitouch kiosk that enables consumers to generate a solar energy quote for their home.

The Sunrun BrightPath Station runs on BrightPath software that allows customers to place the location of their home on a map and assess it for solar energy. The end-to-end automated software provides management tools that take clients through the process from selecting hardware and system design to pricing, scheduling, permitting installation and more, the company said. Sunrun will deploy the kiosks in select retail environments.

"Sunrun views retail stores as a promising opportunity to increase solar adoption by consumers," said Gary Wayne, vice president of strategic projects at Sunrun, in a press release. "The Sunrun BrightPath Station enables consumers to learn more about solar as a service in a highly engaging environment and receive an accurate proposal customized for their home. Sunrun was built upon a diversified approach to selling solar, and our station and retail experience together is another example of how we are meeting consumers where they feel comfortable shopping while lowering the cost of going solar."

Sunrun kiosks enable consumers to understand their solar project needs by prompting them to answer questions that generate multiple home solar system options.
