Redbox revealed plans to install another 300 kiosks in Canada during the second quarter, according to globalpost.com. The announcement comes after parent company Coinstar reported its profits had fallen 58 percent during Q1.
Last year, the company said it planned to have as many as 2,500 kiosks in Canada by the end of 2013, but only has about 350 locations in Ontario and Western Canada, according to the article.
Redbox's latest deal comes from an agreement with Petro-Canada to install the kiosks at gas stations, while more deployments are expected in the country through existing partners such as Loblaws, Giant Tiger and Walmart Canade, the article reported.
