The recycling kiosk company, ecoATM, has won the Clean Technology category for the 2011 TechAmerica High Tech Awards.
The San Diego start-up is the first company to create an automated self-serve kiosk system that uses patented, advanced machine vision, electronic diagnostics, and artificial intelligence to evaluate and buy back used electronics directly from consumers for cash or store credit.
"We are extremely happy to receive this award from TechAmerica," said Tom Tullie, chairman and CEO, ecoATM. "This recognition validates the unique innovation of our system and its enormous potential."
The TechAmerica High Tech Awards were held Oct. 28 and showcased San Diego's most innovative technology companies. Nine awards were given across several categories.
