Protouch up for Retail Systems 2010 award

Protouch, a United Kingdom-based distributor and manufacturer of touch screen equipment, has been nominated for the Retail Systems Awards 2010.
The company was shortlisted for the Best Use of Technology in the Hospitality and Leisure Sector Award for its ‘Virtual Receptionist' kiosk solution for Aberdeen Sports Village.
Protouch developed the solution in partnership with Xn Leisure, a leader in leisure-management solutions. The companies worked together with Aberdeen Sports Village to create a kiosk that would ease the strain at peak times on the front desk and enhance customer experience.
About 80 percent of the Sports Village members now use the Virtual Receptionist, freeing up staff to spend time with customers, help with tickets and make future booking enquiries.
The Xen X4 wall mounted kiosk offers a 19-inch touch screen, RFID smart card reader, receipt and ticket printer and branding while running a booking and on-screen payment application that provides fast track entry and a secure monitoring system using membership cards linked to turnstiles, barriers or doors.
Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony at the Grosvenor House Hotel London on October 28.
