Spanish language lifestyle magazine "Siempre Mujer" and The Museum of Latin American Art in Los Angeles joined together to host a "Dia de los Muertos," fundraiser honoring the traditional Mexican Holiday.

Among the event's highlights included a Meurtos-themed photo kiosk, provided by P&G Orgullosa, an online organization that celebrates Latinas. The interactive social media kiosk allowed photo opportunities for guests attending the fundraiser.

"Dia de los Muertos is one of the most important, spiritual and meaningful holidays in Mexico and Latin America," Siempre Mujer Editor-in-Chief Maria Cristina Marrero said.

The event, held at MOLAA in Long Beach, California, drew 600 guests and raised more than $75,000 for the museum's art education programs and exhibitions.

The Dia de los Meurtos exhibition created by Tony Dominguez comprises six celebrity alters, one honoring novelist Gabriel Garcia Marquez, where visitors can donate new and gently used books for local libraries and schools. It is on display until November 8, 2014. The holiday's festivities last two weeks.
