Bank technology company Source Technologies recently announced its 8-Series Personal Teller Machine, a retail banking kiosk designed to support mobile wallets and tablet assistance. The kiosk was unveiled at the 2015 BAI Retail Delivery Conference, according to a press release.

The tablet assistance features allows financial institution employees to operate the kiosk via a tablet. In addition, its mobile wallet support allows customers to simply tap their smartphone on the kiosk' near-field communication device to conduct a transaction with their wallet of choice.

"More and more consumers have embraced self-service kiosks due to the speed, convenience and 'cool' factor these kiosks provide over traditional tellers, and our mobile wallet integration takes that modern banking experience just one step further," said Keith Hamilton, CEO of Source Technologies. "Mobile wallets have quickly become a widely accepted form of payment — both by retailers and consumers — so financial institutions must keep up with consumers' demands and expectations for mobile wallet acceptance in all aspects of their everyday lives, including banking."

The kiosk is designed, according to Hamilton, to allow customers to conduct their own transactions but also enable them to receive assistance quickly.
