LODI, Calif. - Internet kiosk provider PayStar Corp. (OTCBB:PYST), seeking a slice of the pizza payment technology business, has contracted with Vancouver-based eXcape Business Transactions Inc. to create handheld wireless payment terminals for selected Domino's Pizza franchisee locations.
Under the test program, the franchisee's delivery drivers will make the terminals available at the point of purchase, allowing customers to pay for their pizzas at their homes using credit and debut cards. No further details of the agreement were announced.
PayStar expects to deploy several thousand wireless units during 2002, though company officials would not say how many will be allocated for the Domino's test program.
The company also announced on Jan. 28 that it has signed a marketing agreement with EZTaxMachine to market online tax preparation products. EZTaxMachine's Web site will be available for free on PayStar's Internet access kiosks. PayStar will receive a commission for each tax filing done on its kiosks through the Web site.
