Silicon Republic: An Irish company has signed a deal worth around €1m ($1.26 million) to supply touchscreen technology that will be fitted inside Eircom payphones throughout the country. One Touch Ireland is to install 200 informational screens as part of a three-year contract signed with Eircom. The touchscreen kiosks are aimed at tourists and businesses and will be free to use. They will contain information about events, travel, accommodation, hospitality, retail, professional services and the local community. The information can be accessed in six different languages.
