Omron Electronic Components offers facial recognition module

Omron Electronic Components LLC has introduced its B5T-007001 (HVC-P2) facial recognition module to add facial recognition capability to kiosks and other devices, according to a press release.

The module is capable of 10 different image-sensing functions: face recognition and detection; body and hand detection; age; gender; gaze; blink; face direction; and expression estimates (neutral, happiness, surprise, anger and sadness).

The module offers a choice of wide-angle and long distance, and is designed for kiosks, vending machines and market data collection devices.
