NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst has deployed wayfinding solution MediNav Digitial Wayfinding and Patient Experience. Developed by Connexient, the solution is designed to provide maps, GPS and location-based content from a smartphone app or kiosk, according to the press release.

Hospital visitors can download the MediNav application for their iPhone and Android smartphones, which gives them turn-by-turn directions to every area of the hospital. In addition, customers can also use an in-hospital kiosk to get their directions.

"We are thrilled at the opportunity to enhance NYC Health + Hospital/Elmhurst's Patient Experience," said Mark Green, CEO and co-founder of Connexient. "MediNav will provide Elmhurst patients and visitors with a compelling Wayfinding experience, with the use of 'Near 3D' Indoor Maps and Turn-by-Turn directions to any destination inside the hospital. Connexient's API will also ensure that over time Elmhurst can integrate their Indoor Maps and Location-based Services into other applications and IT infrastructure."

"After reviewing a number of solutions, we unanimously decided to go with Connexient's superior indoor mapping platform," said Dimitra Limperopoulos, associate director of operations at NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst. "Connexient has a strong vision and roadmap to integrate and extend the benefits of Indoor Mapping and Location-based Services across the hospital network."
