Noritsu launches combination order-taking device and on-demand PrintStation

August 30, 2004

BUENA PARK, Calif. - Noritsu has introduced the CT- Kiosk - a self-serve, touch-screen retail system that makes printing digital photos fast, easy, and consumer-friendly.

The network- and Internet-ready CT-Kiosk can be used as a stand-alone system complete with up to three dye-sublimation printers or as part of a self-service photofinishing solution that helps consumers place orders on a Noritsu QSS or dDP system.

When placed in a retail outlet, customers may simply bring in their storage media, including CD-R/RW, Zip, SmartMedia, CompactFlash, SD Card, xD-Picture Card, or Memory Stick, insert it into the terminal, select options from the touch-screen, and bring the completed order slip to the cashier. Those with Infrared or Bluetooth capability can transfer photo files wirelessly. Orders can then be sent off-site via Internet to any Noritsu digital minilab or digital printer for output or printed on-site when directly connected to the QSS digital minilab or dDP- 411 Digital Dry Printer. To create a stand-alone kiosk that offers on-the-spot digital printing, operators simply add up to three high-quality dye sublimation printers.

"The Noritsu CT-Kiosk represents a much more advanced, innovative way of offering digital processing services and perfectly answers the needs of today's rapidly growing population of digital camera users," said Gregory Joe, Marketing Manager of Noritsu America Corporation. "Drug stores, convenience stores, grocery stores, warehouse stores and even 1-hour photo shops can now purchase a single system for use as an order-taking device or on-demand print station without having to train or add new staff members, purchase a dedicated server or network computer, or take up valuable space with on-site printing."
