Noritsu and Lucidiom to provide retail photo self-service solutions
January 29, 2008
BUENA PARK, Calif. — Noritsu America Corp., a manufacturer of digital imaging equipment, in collaboration with Lucidiom, a provider of brand-independent photo kiosks, have announced the opportunity for all 2008 Photo Marketing Association trade show attendees to view and experience the Noritsu/Lucidiom photo service solution. The PMA show, to be held in Las Vegas, NV from Jan. 31 – Feb. 2, 2008, will show demonstrations of the companies' new Noritsu D701 compact retail inkjet printer and the Lucidiom APM kiosk.
The Noritsu D701 is an inkjet printer capable of producing a variety of print sizes to maximize revenue potential for the retailer. Retailers can now provide their customers with an assortment of photo and photo-related products in stores. In addition to standard 4x6 inch prints, the D701 can produce new photo revenue opportunities through items such as calendars, photo cards, locker prints and posters up to 10 x 36 inches. The D701 utilizes a new inkjet technology that improves the dye ink process to provide sharp detail and brilliant colors, while producing long-lasting prints that resist deterioration from ozone and light. Ideal for photofinishing and other environments such as drugstores and consumer electronics retailers, the D701 is an extremely compact printing system, taking up only 4.6 square feet of space.
Other features include an order sorter that organizes print orders for improved productivity and the ability to switch between sheet and roll-fed paper, which enables the printer to handle a variety of print jobs for greater revenue opportunities.
"(Lucidiom) represents some of the best-in-class photo kiosk hardware and software in the industry," said Tina Tuccillo, vice president of Marketing and Strategic Planning at Noritsu America. "They understand the digital imaging environment and how to communicate profitable photo solutions to retailers. We recommend their APM kiosks along with our new D701 to retailers who currently offer photofinishing services and want to grow their revenues with prints and photo products; and to other retailers looking to introduce new in-store services such as photofinishing to their customers."
