New touch solution ideal for public environments

September 28, 2004

AUSTIN, Texas - Touch International, a leading manufacturer of touch technology, has announced the launch of RGTouch, its newest capacitive technology solution designed to meet the durability requirements of public access applications such as self-ticketing kiosks, ATMs, gaming machines and vending applications. These durable, break resistant, vandal-proof touch screens are engineered to withstand the high volume of traffic and rough treatment found in these environments.

RGTouch is an all-glass sensor with an added layer of tempered glass that provides a durable, highly reliable touch solution. Additional options include integrated privacy filters, improved optical performance through anti-reflective materials, and emi shielding to further reduce the high decibel noise levels emitted by the display. RGTouch is available for purchase starting in Sept. 2004 initially in flat 15-, 17- and 19-inch diagonals and comes with a five-year standard warranty.

"A kiosk manufacturer's worst nightmare is a visitor whose handling is so rough, that the individual breaks the touchscreen," said Michael Woolstrum, Touch International's CEO. "RGTouch is ideal because it provides the extra strength and durability needed in the ATM and self-ticketing markets to eliminate any breakage concerns that manufacturers have."
