New London police kiosks resemble Dr. Who's Tardis

Scotsman.com: People could be mistaken for thinking they have been transported to a different time dimension if they stumble across a Doctor Who Tardis. In fact, there are 237 blue police call boxes, on which the BBC modelled the fictional time lord's transporter. Personal radios made them redundant in 1969, but just as the television show is being resurrected, police are experimenting with bringing the boxes back, although now they are more hi-tech. The new PCBs "have touch screen systems which allow people to report low-level crime 24 hours a day," according to a police spokesman. Click here to read the full story.
