The deployment of 2,000 kiosks designed to provide information on railway timings and payment of utility bills in New Delhi have hit a road block, according to the timesofindia.com. The project, launched by The Municipal Corporation of Delhi, was slated for an October completion, but only 100 kiosks are in place, and none are working properly.
The kiosks were to be placed near residential colonies, so information and services would be available to citizens near their homes.
"This is a citizen-friendly project," said Deep Mathur, an MCD representative. "The project still stands, but there are some issues which need to be sorted out before we re-start the project. We are examining the matter and will soon restore it."
