NEWBURY, England -- Global telecommunications company Vodafone Group has turned to NetShift Software Ltd. for assistance in rolling out Vodafone's in-store product guide, Demobar. Demobar allows in-store staff to demonstrate telecommunications products and services to customers.
Demobar, which is currently available in 55 Vodafone retail outlets in the UK, utilizes NetShift's advanced application support and network software in an interactive setting. Vodafone staff can walk customers through demonstrations of short messaging service, infrared, Bluetooth, wireless application protocol, and MP3 products.
The interactive kiosk is part of a point-of-sale solution that includes Demobar, a 42-inch plasma screen for displaying digital posters, and video advertising.
Vodafone plans to expand the project to another 200 to 350 retail outlets in coming months if customers are satisfied with the current service and it attracts additional business for Vodafone.
"We are confident that the project will be extended into further outlets over the coming months," Andrew McInerney, Vodafone UK technical development project manager, said in a news release.
NetShift will demonstrate the Demobar during the Retail Solutions trade show May 21-23 in Birmingham, England.
