Myers Tire Supply Distribution rolls out automated dispensing technology

Myers Tire Supply Distribution is partnering with Apex Supply Chain Technologies to bring automated dispensing technology to its customers, Modern Tire Dealer reports. The MTS Xpress Vending Program will provide Myers customers with a vending machine and locker offering a secure, accurate, real-time way to manage and control their high-cost, high-use and mission-critical inventory items, the publication said.

The MTS Xpress Vending Program uses Apex's cloud-based Trajectory Enterprise Technology Platform to provide Myers and Myers' customers with real-time information and automated replenishment, based on customer-set parameters.

Myers will offer the program to its partner tire dealers, automobile dealerships, re-treaders and commercial fleet operators.

According to Tire Business, the locker can be powered either by an attached vending machine or a separate control unit. It uses a check-in/checkout feature that tracks who is using tools, and can be programmed to accept employee ID numbers or cards.
